Will o Wind Updates

Due to popular demand, Will O'Wind Horse Trials will be using Dressage test 2* 'B' for the Intermediate horse trials Oct 14, instead of test 'A'. They will also offer combined tests Sunday Oct 14th if we have enough entries. All combined tests will use FEI test 'B' at the appropriate level. Judges will be Kellie Towers FEI 'I' judge and Yulia Novitskaya FEI 'I' judge. Entry Fee is $ 80 for combined test plus HST ($90.40).
Touch A Rainbow Date Change

Ontario Year End Awards Update

The OHTA is currently working on a revised awards protocol that will be in place for the upcoming 2013 season. More information will be communicated once these plans are finalized and approved. The hope is to streamline the body of awards and trophies into a formatted program as well as to establish a clear process for the creation and retirement of sponsored awards. As the 2012 Awards Banquet right around the corner, the OHTA wanted to make you aware that for this year, the association will be using the previous awards criteria, as found in the 2011 Canadian Eventing omnibus.
Oakhurst Adds Division To August 5th Event

Oakhurst Horse Trials, the popular Ottawa Valley event located in Ashton will be adding a Preliminary/Intermediate division to its event on 5th August. dressage and show jumping will run at the Intermediate level and the cross-country will be run at the Preliminary Level.
Spring Run Farm Fall Mini-Trial

In view of the change of date for Penny Oaks Horse Trials in Edinburgh, Indiana to Aug 18-19, the organizers of the Spring Run Farm Fall Mini-Trial in Lexington, Kentucky have chosen to shift their event to August 5. This is two weeks earlier than originally planned. Susan and Blake hope this change will allow riders to support both shows in our area. The revised show information is available here.

Canadian Lindsay Pearce At Saumur
Canadian Lindsay Pearce qualified her mare Saniki at the Saumur CCI*** in France this weekend. The pair were clear on cross-country adding only 14.40 time penalties to their score - the 11th best ride of the day of the 52 participants and the only clear round of the 5 North American pairs competing. Adding only 4 penalties in show jumping, the pair finished the event in 18th place. Pearce finished on her second ride, Candar van het Neerveld in 35th position.
British Eventing Novice Regional Finals Rescheduled
Following the recent loss of the Novice Regional Finals at Keysoe (1) this class has been rescheduled to take place at Milton Keynes (2) on Saturday 23rd June 2012. Due to the Gatcombe Festival of British Eventing taking place so soon after Milton Keynes, those that qualify for the Novice Championships will need to enter immediately after Milton Keynes.
Roberts Wins 2* at Will O' Wind

Ian Roberts riding Faolan won the CIC 2* division at the Will O' Wind Horse Trials near Orangeville, Ontario, held May 6. 2011 Pan American Games Gold medalist Jessica Phoenix won the CIC 1* division riding Executive Decision and second place with A Little Romance.
Canadian Lindsay Pearce Clean XC At Fontainebleau
Two qualifying finishes after 2 clear cross-country rounds for Canadian equestrian Lindsay Pearce this weekend at the Fontainebleau CIC3* in France. Final placings of 33rd on Candar Van Het Neerveld and 35th for 9 year-old Saniki, the mare's first competition at this level. Next on the spring program is the CCI*** at Saumur in May.
Area VI Young Rider Team Raffle

2012 Area II Championship Location Announced

USEA Area II have announce that this year's championships for all levels will be held at Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia on Oct 6-7, 2012. Morven is under new management and they are extremely excited to be hosting the Championships this year and want to make it something special for all levels. All Championship levels will be run over 2 days, with special Show Jumping courses and the cross country courses that will have some differences from the regular levels. All Championship divisions will run Shwo Jumping last in Reverse Order and there will be an Awards Ceremony after each division.
FENCE Horse Trials Canceled

The FENCE Horse Trials scheduled for March 31 to April 1 in Landrum, South Carolina has been canceled due to a conflict with another Area III event. Plans are already underway for next year.
Jersey Fresh To Offer Tailgating

Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event held on May 10-13 this year in Allentown, NJ has decided to offer tailgating stops on cross-country day. This is very probably in response to Rolex Kentucky offering this popular option.
Half marks NOT to be used in Australian eventing Dressage

Following some enquiries as to whether the half mark scale adopted this year by Dressage Australia at a National level will be utilised by Eventing dressage - it has been confirmed that it will not be used at FEI or Eventing Australia level in 2012.
